The Banner Project
In 2015 the Craven Art Council created the Banner program in downtown New Bern. This ongoing project has a mission to:
The project seeks to achieve these goals by partnering private businesses, artists, charities, and public institutions to sponser banners for the lightpoles on Broad Street in New Bern, North Carolina. Now entering its third year the project has proven to be extremely sucessful in achiving this mission, and we encourage you to join us in expanding the program.
- help create a sense of unity between uptown and downtown New Bern
- encourage people to value and experience all New Bern has to offer
- portray a vibrant city that can rival any other for its art
- support Craven Arts Council’s programs.

What's on the Banner?Each Banner is designed according to an easily recognible template that showcases both the artist's work and the sponser text. Each Banner will have:
The sponsor may request the work of a particular local artist if they wish, otherwise Craven Arts Council and Gallery will seek to match an artist with the sponsor

What are the Benefits?
The Banner Project offers visibly to sponsors in a number of ways:
- The image and message are visible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Downtown business that purchase a Banner can be included on the monthly ArtWalk card produced by Craven Arts Council and receive copies of the card each month.
- Each Banner will be posted at least once on Craven Arts Council's Facebook page to show your support of the program
